This weatherproof accessory socket is designed to be panel-mounted on a vehicle to provide an external charging point and power outlet socket. It is the same format as is used on some Triumph, BMW and Honda motorcycles.

This new version utilises the standard AccuMate / OptiMate connector – it plugs into the standard fused permanent connection lead supplied with your charger. This means you can also utilise the extension lead to site the socket some distance from the battery.

In addition to providing a weatherproof connection point for your AccuMate or OptiMate charger (using the optional accessory plug lead), it can also provide a power outlet socket for other accessories - e.g. mobile phones, tyre pumps, portable CD players, notebook PCs, GPS navigation units, camping lights, etc. To do this, a matching plug would be needed on the accessory concerned. NB this is smaller than a cigarette lighter socket.

It is of particular use for scooters with sealed battery compartments and any other vehicles where use of the standard trailing fused permanent lead is not practical. Similarly with cars, where it is not practical to use the internal cigarette lighter socket or to access the battery compartment, this socket can be fitted externally.

This accessory fits the matching accessory plug lead (TM72).
